GOSHEN, Utah — State troopers say at least one person has died following a crash that blocked both directions of U.S. Highway 6 in Utah County.
Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 5:48 a.m. Thursday near milepost 154, when a Ford F-150 pickup truck crossed the center line and struck a Chevrolet Impala head-on.
The driver of the Impala was killed on impact, according to troopers, and the driver of the F-150 was airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition.
“Possible impairment is being investigated as a contributor to this crash,” troopers said.
U.S. 6 was closed between Goshen’s Center Street and Goshen Hot Springs Road until 10:30 a.m. Troopers did not release the victim’s identity.
