PROVO, Utah — Officials with the Provo Police Department say human remains that were located on Y Mountain have been identified as those of a 41-year-old man who was reported missing in January.
Police said Andrew Gulledge was last seen around 11 p.m. on Jan. 1 in downtown Provo, and he was reported missing on Jan. 3.
Once weather conditions improved, officers were able to follow up on a tip that Gulledge was seen hiking Y Trail.
On April 6, Provo PD’s drone team located human remains on the mountain. The identity of the remains was later confirmed by the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner.
“We send our deepest condolences to (Gulledge)’s family and loved ones,” police said in a tweet.
