SOUTH WEBER CITY, Utah — A burglar broke into the South Weber City Hall Thursday night by smashing a window and then stole some petty cash.
Stephanie Dinsmore with the Davis County Sheriff’s Office would not say how much money was stolen.
City officials closed the building Friday as deputies investigated.
Dinsmore said the burglar also busted a door. She estimated damages to be about $1,000.
“We sent crime labs to see what type of information we can gather from the scene,” Dinsmore said. “We are waiting on South Weber (police) to provide some security footage which hopefully will aid in the investigation.”
She said workers discovered the break-in when they showed up for work Friday morning.
