FM100 honored with prestigious Crystal Award

SALT LAKE CITY — KSFI, known as FM100.3, was honored with the Crystal Award for its commitment to community service by the National Association of Broadcasters.
Ten stations were honored with the award at the broadcaster’s conference this week. This is the second time FM100.3 has been recognized with the award for its community service.
“FM100.3’s purpose is to build up, connect, inform, and celebrate our families and communities,” Director of Programming Sue Kelley said. “Last year, we stretched our signal to deepen our connection to the community and focused special outreach to those at-risk.”
The station was involved in several events that marked its community service, including the Out of Darkness charity walk held to bring awareness to suicide prevention. The year also featured Armed Forces Family Day and Nurses Week to uplift healthcare workers.
KSFI also dedicated a month to daily free heart health messages as health screenings dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also featured a Think Pink month to connect at-risk women to free mammogram resources with live remote events an with over 765 minutes of spots created by recent breast cancer survivor Rebecca Cressman.
Broadcasts also helped local children’s hospital GiveaThon to raise over $2.3 million for charity and a mediathon partnership raised over $300,000 for The Road Home shelter.
Finalist for the award selected by a panel of judges consisting of representatives from broadcasting, community service organizations and PR firms.
