PARK CITY, Utah — A Main Street landowner is looking at 15 years in prison for misusing $4 million of local HOA funds that began in 2012.
According to a statement from the Park City Police Department, officers finished their investigation of Kenneth Abdalla, 53, who had been renting out a commercial and residential space on Main Street and Heber Avenue known as the Sky Lodge Condominiums.
In the court documents, Abdalla obtained portions of the Sky Lodge around 2012 with his now ex-wife and slowly took major ownership of the property into 2018.
Around this time, complaints were being filled, and Abdalla caught the attention of police.
The audit report found that Abdalla owes a little over $4 million to the HOA. Of that money, about $3.5 million was used for non-HOA uses like his own restaurant and hiring a personal staff.
Abdalla is facing three-second degree felonies:
- Unlawful dealing of property by fiduciary,
- theft,
- and pattern of unlawful activity.
