MOAB, Utah — Dog the Bounty Hunter’s interest in the murders of Crystal Turner and Kylen Schulte isn’t random, but was requested by Schulte’s father.
In a phone interview with KSL TV, Sean-Paul Schulte said he reached out to Duane “Dog” Chapman six months ago to get more eyes to his daughter’s case.
“I wanted him to come out for publicity,” Schulte said, “so that more and more people can see the case.”
He wants people to remember if anything happened on Aug. 14 when both women went missing. Schulte hopes that someone might have dashcam footage of that day or remembers seeing anyone at their campsite.
“We are open to Dog coming and generating publicity, and people will look at the screens, monitors, and the TVs, and someone will say ‘wait a minute, we were in Moab last year.'” Schulte said.
He is aware of all the work that needs to be done in only three days and hopes Dog can at least thin down the suspect list.
“We are counting our blessings. Thank god that Dog has come and hopes we can get extra exposure,” Schulte said. “Dog’s going to shake the tree, and we are going to see if a very rotten apple falls out of the tree.”
Dog posted on Twitter on Saturday that he is coming down to Moab for the weekend to look into Kylen and Crystal’s case.
We are heading to Moab, Utah this weekend where the murders of Crystal Turner and Kylen Schulte are still unsolved. Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito were in Moab around this time. We are asking anyone with information to text or call us at 833-TELL-DOG. 🤙 #justice pic.twitter.com/LM6lesBLIO

Kylen and Crystal were reported missing last August before police found them dead with gunshot wounds at their campsite.
