LEHI, Utah – A self-described queer charter school teacher has resigned after a social media post describing her talks with students about their sexuality. The teacher was previously on administrative leave.
“Jenna Hall previously submitted her resignation for the 2022-2023 school year on April 19, 2022,” according to a statement from school officials. “Subsequent to the investigation earlier this week, we have mutually agreed to end our employment relationship for the current school year, effective immediately.”
In the post from Libs of TikTok, fourth-grade teacher Jenna Hall talks about her experience with past students at Renaissance Academy in Lehi.
“My kids from last year are now in fifth grade and they come to visit me almost every day after school,” Hall said in the video. “And a lot of them are queer, because I am queer, and they figured it out, so I’ve become their safe space.”
Hall witnessed those students playing Guess Who in “not the normal way.”

“They use things like ‘this person looks like a lesbian baddie who is going to come over make ya dinner,'” Hall continues in the video and shows a character named Olivia.
Hall said she’s excited that students are “figuring out who they are, and that they are happy with who they are, and that they’ve found a safe place,” but was shocked about what they said.
Renaissance Academy said they were aware of Hall’s social media post on Friday and placed her on administrative leave for “several inappropriate conversations with former students.”
