PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — A propane tank exploded in a shed, igniting power poles and knocking out power to several Pleasant Grove homes Sunday afternoon.
According to the Pleasant Grove Fire Department, a homeowner burned tree limbs in a fire pit and left the pit unattended around 700 South Main Street at 3 p.m.
While the fire burned, it spread to the nearby shed, which contained a propane tank that caught on fire and exploded. The explosion caught nearby power lines on fire, causing a three-hour power outage for the block.
Authorities are deciding if the owner will be cited.
