OREM, Utah — A driver is in critical condition after crashing and being hit by a semi-truck on Sunday morning.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, the man was driving southbound on Interstate 15 in Orem around 10:53 a.m. when he lost control of his car and crashed into a median.
The car then spun across multiple lanes of traffic until the semi stuck him.
He was dragged about 500 feet after the impact.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
I-15 was closed for 30 minutes before reopening.
State troopers believe speed and weather were factors that led to the crash.
