WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – An investigation is underway in West Valley City after following reports of multiple gunshots fired in an apartment complex.
West Valley City Police said they received several calls reporting multiple shots fired in the E Gate Apartments a little after 3:00 a.m. Saturday.
When police got to the scene, they ran into a large group of people and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
“There was a large group of people here. We have lots of witnesses. It’s gonna take us a while to kind of sort out how exactly what took place and to establish who our suspects are, and if there’s one or many suspects,” said West Valley City Lieutenant Steve Beardshall.
They said the shooting happened in Building 2935.
The two men were rushed to the hospital. While at the hospital, one of the victims died from injuries.
The other victim is still being treated at the hospital. Police said when they were last updated, he was in stable condition.
At last check, Beardshall said no arrests have been made.
Witness interviews are ongoing, and police expect to have more answers in the investigation in the coming days.
