Child drowns at Ogden Country Club pool

OGDEN, Utah — A child was pronounced dead after she was found under water at the Ogden Golf and Country Club pool, according to South Ogden Police Department.

On Friday, June 3, around 6:20 p.m. South Ogden Police and first responders were dispatched to a drowning at the Ogden Golf and Country Club.

Witnesses pulled the girl from the pool and began CPR. When first responders arrived, they continued CPR up until she was transported, by ambulance, to McKay Dee Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The child was identified as 10-year-old Grace Grunander of Pleasant View, Utah.

The case is being investigated as a drowning but investigators are looking into a “possible medical event that may have contributed,” according to a release from police.

The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
