It’s firework season: here’s where and when you can buy them

SALT LAKE CITY — As summer holidays like the 4th of July and Pioneer Day approach, people are preparing for fireworks. Here’s what you need to know.
Here are the dates class “C” fireworks (aerial fireworks) can be sold:
June 24 – July 25
December 29 – December 31
Two days before and on Chinese New Year’s Eve
Here are the dates that firework lighting is allowed:
July 2 – July 5
(On July 4th hours are extended to midnight)
July 22 – July 25
(On July 24th hours are extended to midnight)
December 31*
(11 a.m. – 1 a.m. January 1)
Chinese New Year’s Eve January 31
(11 a.m. – 1 a.m. February 1 )
With ongoing drought and high wildfire risk, fireworks are restricted in multiple areas across the state.
