Layton man found safe in Kansas

UPDATE: Travis Hicks has been found safe in Kansas, according to the Layton Police Department.
“He made it there on his own, and is being reunited with family,” read a tweet from the agency Wednesday afternoon.

LAYTON, Utah — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 56-year-old Layton man who suffers from multiple medical conditions.
Officials with the Layton City Police Department said Travis Hicks was last seen at his home in Layton around 6 a.m. Monday.
“It has been reported that Mr. Hicks has a traumatic brain injury, paranoid schizophrenia, diabetes, and depression,” stated a press release from the agency Tuesday evening.
Police said Hicks stated that he was going to a nearby gas station to get a drink. He took his phone along with him, but no medications.

“A ping of Mr. Hicks’ cell phone was done, and officers found the phone lying on the side of the road at approximately 1950 E. HWY 193 in Layton,” stated the release.
Police believe Hicks may be in danger due to his medical conditions requiring the use of medications which he does not have on him.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue and grey pullover wool poncho, green T-shirt, black Adidas shorts with a white stripe on the side, and neon green shoes.
