LOGAN, Utah — An Arizona man is in police custody after talking to an officer posing as a 13-year-old girl with plans to “mess around” on Tuesday, according to police.
In the arresting documents, 35-year-old Kyle Arcurio began chatting with the undercover officer on June 2, on a “mobile app that’s used for online messaging.”
Arcurio contacted the officer, asking them their age, sex and location, and the officer told him they were a 13-year-old girl in Logan.
He replied, saying he’s a 35-year-old man from Ogden. He later said he actually lives in California and travels to Utah often for work.
The two kept talking, with Arcurio asking the undercover officer sexually explicit questions like if they “ever had sex” and “would they ever want to be with an older guy?”
He also sent multiple pictures of male genitalia and wanted to perform sexual acts on the girl.
On Tuesday, Arcurio sent a picture of his genitalia asking to meet with the officer, still posing as a 13-year-old.
Arcurio said they could “mess around” and couldn’t wait to make them feel good by performing sexual acts, according to the documents.
He also recognized that he could go to jail for meeting them.
The two planned to meet at a Logan park, where Arcurio showed up and was taken into police custody.
After being read his Miranda rights, Arcurio said he was a sex addict and wanted to try something new.
He admitted talking to a girl under 18 but thought she was 14 or 16.
Arcurio also confessed that he was planning to have oral sex with the 13-year-old but didn’t know if he was actually going to do it. He had two condoms on his person when police found him.
According to the affidavit, Arcurio was booked into the Cache County Jail for:
- entice a minor by internet or text (x7)
- rape of a child
- sodomy on a child (x2)
- aggravated sexual abuse of a child
- sexual abuse of a child
