Dalton Wash Fire burns an estimated 600 acres, zero percent contained

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — Crews are battling a wildfire in Virgin near state Route 9 at Dalton Wash Road, according to Hurricane Valley Fire Department.
State fire and Bureau of Land Management crews responded to the scene as well as eight engines and wildland apparatus, one water tender and one ambulance.
Aircraft helped in the firefighting effort until sunset Thursday.
According to the fire department, at this time, a type three incident management team has been requested and should arrive Friday.
Crews were on scene all night and Dalton Wash Road is closed until further notice.
As of Friday morning, crews said the blaze had burned an estimated 600 acres. Evacuations were ordered for a nearby “tiny homes” site but the occupancy of the site was unknown as of Friday.
