One dead in I-15 wrong-way crash

DAVIS COUNTY — One man is dead after a a head-on collision on I-15 early Saturday morning, according to police.
A press release from the Utah Highway Patrol, a black Chevy Silverado was headed northbound in the southbound HOV lane.
A green Toyota Camry was traveling southbound when the Silverado driver drifted out of the HOV lane and struck the Camry in a head-on collision.
The driver of the Camry died on impact, UHP said. He was a male in his early 20’s – his identity has not been released.
The other driver sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital. UHP said this driver is also a male in his 20’s.

UHP is investigating alcohol as a contributing factor of the crash and said early investigation shows the Silverado did not have it’s lights turned on – this area of i-15 is not lit artificially.
I-15 near Park Lane in Farmington was closed for about 4 hours early Saturday due to the investigation.
