WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Weber County authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a 72-year-old man who has been missing since May 31.
“On June 6, 2022, a complainant came into the Weber County Sheriff’s Office to advise her friend/roommate, Manuel Vazquez, had taken her truck and she believed he had gone to Wendover to gamble,” stated a Facebook post from the agency.
The woman told authorities she was concerned for his wellbeing due to the fact that he suffered a stroke in April 2022 and that he has diabetes. However, she said she believed Vazquez would return home to West Haven since he generally comes back after three or four days.
A few days later on June 10, the complainant spoke with a deputy, saying Vazquez had still not returned, adding that she was worried he may have suffered some sort of health problem.
“She stated it was uncommon for him to be gone this long (10 days) so she asked he be listed as a missing person,” continued the post.
Vazquez is described as 5 feet 8 inches, 185 pounds, with white hair and brown eyes.
“No photo was available.”
According to the Silver Alert, he has a history of strokes and diabetes.
The 72-year-old is believed to be driving a 2000 white Chevy Silverado pickup with Utah license plate number 4M8AN.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts has been asked to call 801-395-8221.
