Multiple fires across Utah Sunday, wind and heat are factors

New fires started up in different areas of Utah today amidst excessive heat warnings.
Canyon Fire
Utah Fire Info confirmed a new fire started east of Fillmore along the canyon road. They referred to the fire as “Canyon Fire.”
“Erratic winds have pushed the fire an estimated 15-20 acres,” the agency said in a tweet.
By 5:30 p.m. they said the fire crews were able to stop the fire’s progression, crews remain on scene through the evening.
“Erratic winds & high temps remain a threat,” one Utah Fire Info tweet warned.
No evacuations were ordered and the fire is under investigation.

Canyon Creek Fire
Another fire started this afternoon south of Orderville on the west side of Highway 89.
Utah Fire Info tweeted about the “Cove Canyon Fire” saying smoke from the fire has impacted traffic.

“Please use caution when traveling in the area,” they said.

Saratoga Springs Inlet Fire
Authorities in Saratoga Springs are asking residents to avoid the area of a fire Sunday afternoon near Saratoga Road south of Pony Express Parkway.
Saratoga Springs Spokesperson AnnElise Harrison confirmed to KSL TV that the 10-acre fire is north of the Public Safety Building at 367 S Saratoga Road and South of Pony Express in an empty field.
She said several vacant structures are threatened at this time.
Harrison said there is not a known cause and that the fire is under investigation
