PAYSON, Utah — Payson police arrested a man last month who allegedly knocked on the door of two separate homes, forced his way into the residences, and groped women inside.

Police arrested 40-year-Cameron Hargis in connection with the incidents.

Court documents said on May 16 he knocked on the door of an apartment and asked the victim if a certain female lived there.

The documents said the woman told him he did not know who he was looking for. That’s when Hargis entered the apartment and asked the victim for a hug.

He then commented on the woman’s body and grabbed her breast, according to the document. He then grabbed the woman’s hand and placed it on his exposed penis.

“Cameron asked the victim if he wanted him to buy her “some drugs”. The victim then asked Cameron to buy her some “oxy’s” with the intent of getting him to leave her apartment,” the document said. “The victim stated that she told Cameron to leave her apartment several times but it wasn’t until she requested him to get her oxy’s that he left.”

She then locked the door and called police.

The next day police said Hargis knocked on the door of another apartment in Payson.

Charging documents said he once again asked the woman who answered the door if a certain woman lived there. The victim said she did not know that person.

“Cameron then commented to the victim that she ‘had a nice apartment’ and then entered the apartment, uninvited. Once inside the apartment, Cameron continued into the victim’s back bedroom,” the document stated.

Hargis commented on her body and asked for a hug. She said she did not want to hug him.

He hugged her anyway the document said. She told police she felt his erect penis on her thigh during the hug. She then pushed Hargis out of her apartment and called police.

Hargis was booked into the Utah County Jail and now faces two felony counts of burglary of a dwelling and forcible sexual abuse.
