Man faces multiple charges after police say he pointed rifle at neighbor’s house, dog

A Brigham City man is in custody was arrested this week after attempting to provoke a fight and threatened to shoot his rifle, according to authorities.
Booking documents for Michael Nelson detail the incidents leading up to his arrest.
The documents say Nelson exited his home at 137 S 200 E in Brigham City Tuesday and began yelling obscenities across the street at a neighbor.
While holding an “AR-15 style rifle” that was strapped to his chest, Nelson told the neighbor he wanted to fight him, police said.
“Michael pointed the rifle at (the) neighbor’s dog, threatening to shoot it,” police documents say. “The neighbor watched from a window as Michael pointed the rifle directly at their house and vehicles passing by.”
When police were contacted they said they attempted to contact Nelson, he come out twice but ignored their commands and went back inside.
Charging documents show he is facing charges of threatening terrorism, threatening with or using dangerous weapon in a fight or quarrel, threatening violence and interfering with an arresting officer.
