Man arrested for domestic violence after victim calls police under guise to ‘order a pizza’

WEST HAVEN, Utah — A man is in custody for domestic violence after a victim called 911 requesting a pizza.
According to the affidavit, Kenneth Lee Jones, 40, is in police custody for allegedly hitting and strangling a woman to the point of unconsciousness in the presence of her three children.
The woman called 911 “ordering a pizza” and “gave no further information.”
When police responded, they found a woman with large bruises around her left eye, red marks near her right eye and on her cheek, and bruising around her neck.
At first the victim said her injuries were from “practicing self defense” with Jones, who was in the room.
Once Jones and the victim were separated and questioned, the victim admitted the marks on her face were from a fight with Jones earlier in the day.
The victim also showed police “bruises on the front of her torso,” and explained the healing bruising on her neck was from a fight with Jones a week earlier, when he had strangled her to the point of unconsciousness.
The victim stated, she and Jones “had practiced self defense in the past, but they had not practiced for approximately six months.”
There were three children at home and awake when police responded to the incident.
When questioned, Jones stated the victim’s injuries had happened while the two were practicing self defense and denied strangling or hitting her.
Jones was arrested on suspicion of one count of aggravated assault that produces loss of consciousness, two counts of assault, and three counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child.
