UTA: One man dead, another injured after shooting at TRAX station

SALT LAKE CITY – A man is dead, and another is in serious condition after a shooting at a TRAX station Saturday evening.
Utah Transit Authority spokesman Carl Arky said the shooting happened on the TRAX platform near 900 South and 200 West at approximately 10 p.m.
“Three individuals were involved, all males in their mid to late 20’s,” Arky said Sunday morning. “One individual died at the scene from his injuries. Another individual who was injured was transported to the hospital in (critical) condition.”
That person was still in critical condition as of Sunday morning.
Investigators identified the third man as the shooter. He called 9-1-1 and is cooperating with police. It’s unknown if the shooting was an act of self-defense.
Arky said, “He was not charged and has been released.”
