Man dies on SR-15 after he swerved to avoid collision

CACHE COUNTY, Utah — A 21-year-old man died Sunday after he swerved to avoid a head-on collision and was ejected from his vehicle in Cache County.

The incident happened on milepost 26 of state Route 15 just before 5:45 p.m.

Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said the driver was moving into the southbound lane to pass the car in front of him in the northbound lane. Another vehicle was traveling southbound at the time, so the 21-year-old swerved to avoid a head-on collision

“The male driver lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road to the right,” a press release from UHP stated Monday.

The vehicle rolled and the 21-year-old was ejected.

Troopers said he died from his injuries on scene.

The victim’s name has not been released.
