EB I-70 closed in Emery County due to ‘major crash’

EMERY COUNTY, Utah — All eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 are closed in Emery County while troopers investigate a “major crash” involving multiple vehicles.
The seven-car pileup happened at mile marker 120 just after 4 p.m. Friday.

“Injuries are reported in this crash and thankfully no one has died,” read a tweet from Utah Highway Patrol at 6:26 p.m. Friday.
At 8:20 p.m., troopers said I-70 was closed at mile post 116 with traffic being diverted.
“UHP and UDOT are working to clear vehicles stuck in the back up. We are still anticipating another couple hours before we can open a lane,” another tweet from UHP stated.
