BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah — A 64-year-old woman who was reported missing out of Brigham City was found alive Wednesday night.
Deputies with the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office said the woman, whose name was not released, was found lying in the middle of Willard Peak Road, approximately 1 mile south of Mantua, just before midnight Thursday.
She was reported missing on July 26 and told authorities she crashed her car down a 300-foot ravine.
The woman then spent the next five days in her car before crawling out of the ravine, finally reaching the road where she was found.
Deputies said the woman was suffering from internal injuries and dehydration but is expected to recover.
Sheriff’s office crews had to use ropes to rappel down the steep ravine to access the car, and their investigation is ongoing.
