AMBER Alert canceled for 5-year-old boy abducted from American Fork

UPDATE: The child was found safely at a family member’s home in Salt Lake County according to the American Fork police. The search for the suspect is ongoing.
AMERICAN FORK, Utah — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating an 8-year-old boy who was abducted in American Fork during a confrontation with police.
The victim, identified by police as Lorenzo Linam, is 3 feet 6, weighs about 40 pounds, and has sandy hair and brown eyes. According to the AMBER Alert, he was wearing khaki pants, black Nike shoes, and a beach theme button-down shirt.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Danny Sihalath, is 5 feet 11 and weighs 190 pounds.
Sihalath has black hair and brown eyes, as well as a sleeve tattoo on both forearms.
He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and dark tennis shoes, and was said to be driving a red 2012 Acura Tsx Se with Utah license plate 2S2NP. According to the AMBER Alert, the vehicle is missing its front bumper and grill and has damage to the driver-side window.
Anyone with information has been asked to call police at 801-822-2969.
