NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah — A 57-year-old man is in critical condition after police say he was pinned while trying to go through a car wash in North Salt Lake.
The incident happened at 115 N. Redwood Road at approximately 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
Assistant Chief Mitch Gwilliam with the North Salt Lake Police Department said a pickup truck was pulling into the automatic bay at the car wash when, for some unknown reason, the man got out of the vehicle.
“The vehicle started to roll. He got pinned between the door and the door jamb, essentially crushing him,” he said.
Gwilliam said the man was stuck there until someone found him.
The 57-year-old man from Ogden was then transported to a local hospital with critical wounds.
Gwilliam said the car wash had reopened as of 11:30 a.m.
