RIVERDALE, Utah — A 53-year-old man suspected of raping a child has been arrested in Riverdale.
Bryce Tyler was booked into the Weber County Jail Friday on suspicion of multiple counts of aggravated rape of a child, forcible sodomy of a child, aggravated forcible sexual abuse of a child, and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
Details about what Tyler allegedly did to his victims or who his victims were, was not immediately available.
The arrest comes one day after Riverdale police executed a search warrant for a residence in an effort to find Tyler and search for evidence.
Officials with the Riverdale Police Department said the search warrant was executed by the Ogden Metro Swat Team “due to the suspect’s prior criminal history and mitigating factors.”
He was not found at the residence on Thursday, but police took him into custody Friday during a traffic stop.
Police initially were asking for the public’s help locating Tyler, while warning that he could be armed, before he was picked up by law officers.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
