TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A driver is in extremely critical condition after crashing at accelerated speed early Saturday morning.
Sgt. Ryan Carver said two witnesses called in a crash near Bangerter Highway in Taylorsville on 5400 South eastbound at 12:40 AM.
The vehicle was traveling at accelerated speed when it “inevitably went up onto the curb and was launched into a sign,” Carver said. Due to the speed, the car was split in two. The driver was the only occupant, she is in extremely critical condition at IHC.
5400 South was closed to eastbound traffic from 4015 W. to Bangerter Highway while a crash team investigated. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
