SLC Police searching for suspect in shooting on west side

UPDATE: Police said they were called out to the area of 400 North and 600 West after multiple witnesses reported some fighting occurring in that location, followed by some gunshots. They were also told a person may have been shot.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a male in his 20’s with a lower extremity gunshot wound.
Lisa Pascadello with the Salt Lake City Police Department said responding officers administered aid to the victim before he was transported to a local hospital in satisfactory condition.
As of 7:22 p.m., police still do not have any information about the suspect, but Pascadello said a dark-colored 4-door sedan was seen fleeing the scene.
Anyone who may have been in the area that might have some information about the case has been asked to contact police.

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are investigating after a shooting took place on the west side of Salt Lake City.
The incident occurred Friday afternoon at the corner of 400 North and 540 West.

Police say at least one person was shot, but the condition of that individual is unknown. They were, however, rushed to the hospital.
One of the sergeants with the Salt Lake City Police Department told KSL TV that they are still looking for a suspect and trying to piece together what happened.
One witness on scene said he heard two gunshots, while another person claimed to hear three or four. Both said the guy who was shot was sitting in the street, screaming for someone to call 911.
