TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Police are investigating an attempted abduction near Bennion Junior High School.
Taylorsville Police said the subject was on foot and asked the child if they wanted to go for a ride. Taylorsville Police also seemingly contradicted this and said that no vehicle was involved.
The school issued a statement to the community encouraging families to ensure that students are practicing safe habits in their travels to and from school.
In the statement, principal Jake Brown said “a report had been made last night of an unknown male individual that attempted to entice a student walking home to come over to his vehicle.”
The attempt allegedly occurred in the neighborhood west of the school near 2700 West and 6100 South.
