MIDVALE, Utah — A 19-year-old was arrested for the offense of aggravated child abuse several days after assaulting his 16-year-old girlfriend, according to police.
The teen arrested, identified as Alek Garff, was found at a Motel 6 in Midvale on Friday, Oct. 7.
Eight days earlier, the Taylorsville Police Department responded to a call from a mother reporting an assault to her daughter after walking in and witnessing Garff punching her daughter.
The victim had a broken nose, cervical spine fracture, and concussion, and still showed bruising and swelling of the face on Oct. 5, according to police.
Police were unable to locate Garff until Friday, when he was arrested without incident and refused to give a statement.
