Two Ironman bicyclists hit by car during competition

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — Two Ironman competitors were hit by a car on Saturday during the 2022 Ironman 70.3 World Championship, according to organizers.
“We are aware of an incident that occurred during the bike portion of the second day of competition at the 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, involving an automobile and two athletes,” reads the Ironman group statement. “Both athletes were transported to a nearby hospital where they continue to receive treatment.”
The group also wishes for both competitors to make a speedy and complete recovery.
