LEHI, Utah — A 14-year-old girl is still pretty shaken up, according to police, after a man attempted to kidnap her from Cornbelly’s in Lehi Saturday night.
Officials with the Lehi Police Department said the teen left the corn maze at approximately 10:30 p.m., and was heading to the parking lot to meet up with her ride, when the suspect approached her and grabbed her shoulders.
The man shook the victim, then grabbed her wrists and started pulling her, attempting to take her away.
Police said the teen started screaming, which alerted other bystanders. The man then ran into the parking lot.
After the man ran away, the 14-year-old called her friends, who came and brought her back into Cornbelly’s, where they alerted the onsite police.
The group went out to the parking lot and surrounding areas to try and locate the suspect, but police said he was never found.
The suspect is estimated to be in his 30’s, about 5 feet 10, with darker skin (possibly Hispanic) and a short black beard. He was said to be wearing black sweats and a dark blue hoodie with the hood up over his head.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident has been asked to call police.
