Specific locations released for six previously announced temples

 SALT LAKE CITY — The locations for six previously announced temples for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were released Monday.

According to the Church’s announcement on its newsroom website, three temples will be in the U.S., two in Mexico, and one in Brazil.

Mexico City Benemérito Mexico Temple

The Mexico City Benemérito Mexico Temple will be built near the Mexico City Missionary Training Center at Tenayuca-Chalmita 828, Col. Zona Escolar, Gustavo A. Madero, Ciudad de México, CP 07230, Mexico.

The temple is planned to be two stories and about 29,000 square feet, according to the Church. This is Mexico City’s second temple, with four more temples planned in the greater Mexico City area.

San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple

The second announced Mexico temple is a single-story temple that’s about 9,300 square feet on a 3.87-acre site, according to the Church.

This is the Church’s first temple in San Luis Potosí. They currently have 21 temples in Mexico. Another 23 are planned to be built in the future.

São Paulo East Brazil Temple

The São Paulo East Brazil Temple is planned to be a two-story temple at about 46,050 square feet on a 10.7-acre site on v. Guilherme Giorgi, 1091, Vila Carrão São Paulo – SP, Brazil.

This is São Paulo’s second temple, according to the Church. There are currently 18 temples in Brazil, with an additional three under construction.

Fort Worth Texas Temple

The Fort Worth Texas Temple is planned to be built on a 9.37-acre site North of SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive, Burleson, Texas, according to the Church. It will be a single-story temple of about 30,000 square feet. This will be Fort Worth’s first temple.

There are currently eight temples announced, under construction, or in operation in Texas.

Knoxville Tennessee Temple

The Knoxville Tennessee Temple will be built on a 4.99-acre site at 13001 Kingston Pike, Farragut, Tennessee. It’s planned to be a single-story temple at about 30,000 square feet.

Tennessee has two other temples in operation in Memphis and Nashville, according to the Church. This will be Knoxville’s first temple.

Tampa Florida Temple

The Tampa Florida Temple will be built on a 16.2-acre site near an existing meetinghouse at 4806 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico, Florida, according to the Church. This will be a single-story temple at about 30,000 square feet.

Including the Tampa Florida Temple, five total temples are announced, under construction, or in operation in Florida. There are four other temples in Florida currently in operation.
