SANPETE COUNTY, Utah — An Oregon-based entrepreneur and content creator is facing child rape charges for two incidents in 1992.
On Nov. 3, Jared Leisek, 47, had charges filed against him in the Sixth Judicial District Court in Sanpete County for two first-degree felony counts of rape of a child.
According to court documents, Leisek allegedly forced himself on the victim, who was 9 or 10 years old, twice in 1992. A probable cause statement says Leisek was seven years older than the victim at the time.
Leisek is the owner and creative director of Adventures With Purpose, a YouTube channel that “takes you along on lost underwater treasure hunts while cleaning up the environment in a comedic, vlogging style,” according to his Linkedin account.
The channel has over 250 million views as they help solve cold cases by diving into lakes and rivers to find missing vehicles and items. A recent video shows the group searching for a missing Utah man last seen near Ogden.
Leisek is scheduled to appear in court by video on Nov. 30, according to court documents.
KSL has reached out to Leisek and Adventures With Purpose for comment but hasn’t heard back.
