MILLCREEK, Utah — Police arrested a teenager in connection to the fatal shooting in the parking lot of a Millcreek gas station Friday morning.
Sgt. Melody Cutler with the Unified Police Department said officers responded to reports of a shooting at a 7-Eleven near 4050 S. State Street at approximately 12:30 a.m.
One person died and another was critically injured.
Friday afternoon UPD tweeted that officers arrested Houssein Musse, 18. “He was booked into jail for murder,” the tweet stated.
In an earlier tweet UPD said, “The victim killed in this morning’s shooting in Millcreek has been identified as Talib Ahmed, age 18.”
“Some sort of altercation occurred in the parking lot and multiple shots were fired,” Culter said.
WHAT WE KNOW: PD say they got a call after midnight reporting a shooting here at the 7-Eleven. @UPDSL say while there were some people in the store at one point, they all went outside with some sort of altercation happening in the parking lot.

Officers found one man in the parking lot who had been shot and began lifesaving measures before transporting him to Intermountain Medical Center. He was in critical condition as of 5:30 a.m.
Ahmed was taken by people at the scene to Intermountain Medical Center, where he later died.
“We are trying to gather video, trying to find any witnesses that actually saw what occurred,” Cutler said. “We’ll be looking for surveillance video in the area as well as the hospital to see what we can determine.”
