Residents in that area, according to a tweet from the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, can expect temperatures at or below 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
“Temperatures this cold will kill or damage crops, gardens and may freeze external pipes such as those associated with swamp coolers, RVs, camps, and exposed sprinkler lanes,” NWS said.
Those in the affected area have been advised to:
- Cover or protect vulnerable plants
- Consider winterizing swamp coolers
- Winterize or protect RVs and campers
- Drain or winterize exposed sprinkler lines
