WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Two people died after they crashed into a truck parked on the side of the road on Saturday.
Lt. Steve Beardshall with the West Valley City Police Department said the crash happened near 3200 West and Parkway Blvd. where a box truck was legally parked on the north side of Parkway Blvd.
Just before police received the call at 3:23 p.m., the truck driver was inside his vehicle when it was struck by a car that rear-ended the truck.
The two occupants of the car, one man and one woman, both died.
Beardshall said they are still investigating what happened, gathering video surveillance from local businesses surrounding the accident and working on reconstructing what took place.
