SALT LAKE CITY — The locations of three new temples in North and South America have been announced by The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The renderings of four other temples have also been released.

Three temples in the Americas announced

Santiago West Chile Temple

The Santiago West Chile Temple, which was announced by Church President Russell M. Nelson in Oct. 2021, will be built at Primo de Rivera 1551, Comuna de Maipu, Santiago, Chile.

The structure will be single story and cover approximately 12,500 square feet.

It will be the city’s second temple, joining the Santiago Chile Temple. In addition to the two temples in Santiago, Chile also has the Concepción Chile Temple and the Antofagasta Chile Temple, which is currently under construction.

Cleveland Ohio Temple

The Cleveland Ohio Temple will be built at Brecksville Road, south of Longano Drive, Independence, Cuyahoga County, Ohio 44131.

Church officials say the temple, which was announced by President Nelson in April 2022, will be single story and approximately 9,900 square feet.

It will be the second operating temple in Ohio, joining the under-renovation Columbus Ohio Temple.

The Kirtland Ohio Temple — the first temple built by the Church — is currently owned by the Community of Christ.

Austin Texas Temple

The Austin Texas Temple will be the eighth temple in the state.

According to a release from the Church, it will be built on a 10.6-acre site adjacent to an existing meetinghouse located at 1801 E. Park Street, Cedar Park, Texas.

The temple, which was announced by President Nelson in Oct. 2021, will be single story and approximately 30,000 square feet.

Those locations include the: Dallas Texas Temple, Fort Worth Texas Temple, Houston Texas Temple, Lubbock Texas Temple, McAllen Texas Temple, Prosper Texas Temple, and San Antonio Texas Temple.

Renderings of four other temples released

Renderings of the Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple, Singapore Temple, Knoxville Tennessee Temple, and Modesto California Temple were also released Monday.

Church officials say design plans for these four temples are still being developed, adding that further information, including groundbreaking dates, will be announced to the public at a later date.
