BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah — One man was killed in a head-on crash between a pickup truck and a semi-truck Tuesday morning.
The man was identified as Tyler S. Burgin from Mendon, Utah.
Sgt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 1 a.m. on state Route 30, about 8 miles west of Logan and near the Box Elder-Cache county line.
The pickup truck was heading west when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and hit the semi head-on.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 38-year-old man, was killed on impact, according to Roden. The driver of the semi, a 24-year-old man, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both directions of S.R. 30 were closed for several hours until state troopers reopened one lane in each direction around 6 a.m.
Troopers are working to identify what caused the driver to cross into oncoming traffic.
