Two injured in shooting in Payson

PAYSON, Utah — Two people were injured in a shooting in Payson near 500 West Saddlebrook.
Police say it appears one woman shot the other and then turned the gun on herself during a struggle in which police were trying to intervene.
According to Sgt. Noemi Sandoval with Payson Police Department, the two women “seemed to be familiar with each other,” from their initial investigation. A gun was recovered from the scene.
Payson police released the following statement on Facebook,
“*WEAPONS OFFENSE* There has been a weapons offense in the area of 500 West Saddlebrook involving two individuals. The individuals have been transported from the scene. The firearm used has been seized and there is no danger to the public. Please stay clear of the area as officers continue to investigate the incident.”
