Man in critical condition after hit-and-run in West Valley

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A man was hospitalized with critical injuries after he was hit in a hit-and-run.
At approximately 9 p.m. the man was crossing a street when a white Toyota truck turned left from southbound 3600 West onto 4100 South and hit him.
The light was green, but Lt. Robert Brinton with West Valley City police said the driver failed to yield to the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man in his mid 30’s, was transported to Jordan Valley hospital but because of his injuries he was moved to Intermountain Health Care, according to police.
He is in critical but stable condition, with critical injuries particularly to his head. He is expected to survive.
Police are searching for the suspect, who fled the scene. There was debris at the scene, and they expect the car has noticeable damage.
Anyone who witnessed or has information on the incident is asked to report it to West Valley City police.
