UPDATE: On Monday, both Zeman and McConney were found in Nebraska.


LAYTON, Utah — Utah police issued an Amber Alert Tuesday for a missing 13-year-old boy who is believed to be with an adult he met from the internet.

Layton Police Department issued the alert and said, “suspect and victim may be in route to Arizona or Texas. Suspect and victim are not related.

Layton PD issued an update on the suspect info, identifying him as 26 year-old Aaron Zemen of Arizona. He also is known as Tadashi Kojima.

Zemen drives a white ‘98 Toyota Avalon with a damaged grill and AZ temp tag 22225NP.

The victim is 13-year-old Evan McConney. It said McConney may have left home on Monday night.

He is listed as 5 feet 4 inches tall and is said to weigh 110 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was possibly wearing a black windbreaker with a white t-shirt with blue and yellow bunny skull and bones, according to the state’s alert.

He could be dressed in blue and gray sweatpants with black Vans shoes with a yellow Cobra Kai emblem. He also has an olive drab beanie with the same logo as his shirt.

Utah’s criteria for an Amber Alert is:

  • Law enforcement believes a child or children have been abducted
  • Law enforcement believes the victim(s) face imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death
  • The child or children are 17 years old or younger
  • There is information that could assist the public in the safe recovery of the victim or apprehension of a suspect
