Ogden man shot, killed at West Valley City apartment complex

UPDATE: The victim was identified Wednesday as 20-year-old Xavier Bernal of Ogden.
The West Valley City Police Department said in a 2:41 p.m. tweet that no suspect has been identified.
“Anyone with doorbell camera video between 8-9pm that may have captured a suspect or suspect vehicle is asked to call 801-840-4000,” the tweet stated.

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Police are investigating a shooting that killed a 20-year-old man Tuesday night.
Officials with the West Valley City Police Department said they were called after the victim was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where he died from his injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting happened at the Redwood Apartment Complex after the victim, who is from Ogden, drove to the complex with other people to meet someone.
Other passengers in the vehicle told police the victim left the car and when he returned, he was injured and collapsed. One of the people drove the victim to the hospital, where he later died.
Investigators were canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses Wednesday morning. They asked anyone who saw or heard something potentially related to this shooting to call 801-840-4000.
