UTAH COUNTY, Utah — Police arrested three men for drug use while serving a warrant to a white supremacy gang leader Wednesday.
According to the affidavits, the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force was investigating 39-year-old Stanley Czarnik for his involvement in dealing illegal narcotics in Utah County.
He also had two felony arrest warrants in Salt Lake County, one for his suspected involvement in a home burglary case of stealing pistols in Aug. and a second for driving a stolen car and fleeing from police in Sept.
Confidential sources told police that Czarnik was staying at an Orem residence and was remodeling it for a friend, according to the affidavits. Detectives surveilled the home and confirmed he was staying there.
An undercover detective also contacted Czarnik through social media and confirmed he was staying at the Orem residence.
According to the affidavits, the UCMC served a warrant at the Orem residence on Wednesday. Police found Czarnik with 50-year-old Charles Burr and Robin Thurber inside the home and arrested them without further issue.
Police found “13 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and one loaded .38 S&W revolver” inside of residence, according to the affidavits.
Burr and Czarnik were transported to the Utah County Jail for drug testing and to be booked. Thurber was disabled and in a wheelchair, and their charges will be referred.
According to the affidavits, police obtained a search warrant for Burr and Czarnik’s blood, urine, and DNA. In the urine test, Burr tested positive for benzodiazepines, amphetamines, and methamphetamine. Czarnik tested positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine, and THC.
According to police, Czarnik is a member of the Utah white supremacy gang Silent Aryan Warriors or “SAW.” Back in 2020, multiple SAW gang members were arrested for drug trafficking in Utah.
The affidavits did not say if Burr or Thurber was associated with SAW. Thurber also had two active arrest warrants.
Burr was booked for possession of a controlled substance, possessing a firearm by a restricted person, and possessing drug paraphernalia. Czarnik was also booked for the same charges, along with possessing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
