SUMMIT PARK, Summit County — A man police said assaulted his wife and fled Monday was located in Montana Tuesday morning.
According to a press release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the Office received a report from a man who said a domestic assault took place at his parent’s residence located on the East side of Summit County.
Police arrived at the house and found an “elderly female had been violently assaulted and needed immediate medical attention.”
Investigators discovered the injuries were from her husband, who was identified as Kevin D. Wilde.
Officials said that her ability to report the incident was delayed due to “incapacitating injuries,” which allowed time for her husband to leave hours before deputies arrived.
She was transported to a trauma center by a medical helicopter, according to the release.
The SCSO reported officials in Utah and surrounding states used bank transaction information and license plate recognition technology to help locate Kevin Wilde. Investigators believed Wilde had “likely traveled through Idaho and may have been heading towards Montana.”
Montana officials located Wilde and took him into custody at approximately 11:30 a.m., after he reportedly attempted to flee from authorities in Montana.
A warrant was issued for Wilde’s arrest, and the Sheriff’s Office is working with Montana authorities to transport Wilde back to Utah, according to the release.
