SALT LAKE CITYAll 13 counties have reported their numbers in the 2nd Congressional District GOP race, and the lieutenant governor congratulated incumbent Rep. Celeste Maloy on her victory on Monday.

On July 29, Colby Jenkins formally called for a recount in the race as the gap between him and incumbent Maloy was only 214 votes, which was within Utah law to call for a recount. The next day, several counties confirmed they would begin the recounting process and report their new numbers by the end of the week.

On Thursday, Washington County officials said they have to extend the recount process to Monday due to “an error message was received that the adjudicated ballots were not reflected in the total results.”

On Friday, the lieutenant governor’s office reported that the Tooele County clerk discovered an issue with the recounting process that affected 55 adjudicated ballots that were tallied. Iron County initially reported that its recount process would have been completed by Thursday, but moved it to Monday.
