UPDATE: T-Mobile says outage issue has been resolved

SALT LAKE CITY — After thousands of Utans reported cell phone outages on social media Tuesday, T-Mobile said the outage has been fixed.

According to the telecommunications provider, a Salt Lake City facility had a “brief mechanical issue” that impacted customers in the area.

“This is now resolved, and service is restored. We apologize for the inconvenience,” the T-Mobile spokesperson said in a press release.
