Firefighters respond to structure fire at Lucky 5 Chinese Restaurant

SPANISH FORK — A fire broke out on the mansard roof facade of the Lucky 5 Chinese Restaurant Thursday afternoon, according to a public release from the city of Spanish Fork.
The city said the fire started at Lucky 5 Chinese Restaurant on 130 North Main St. on the roof near the restaurant’s sign.
Spanish Fork Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, with support from the Mapleton City Fire Department and Payson Fire & Rescue.
Public Information Officer with Spanish Fork Jack Urquhart said the Spanish Fork Police Department and Utah County Sheriff’s Office closed parts of Main St. temporarily to ensure public safety and allow emergency responders to access the area.
The public release stated that the restaurant was evacuated, along with surrounding businesses, as a precaution.
Urquhart also said there were no injuries reported, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
